In this week’s program we find out about SkillHire and its involvement in two Federal Government contracts – the Community Development Program (CDP) and the Remote Schools Attendance Strategy.
The Community Development Program is a program that involves job-seekers or unemployed people being involved in 25 hours of ‘work-like’ activities each week in order to qualify to receive income benefits. It is the remote equivalent of the ‘work-for-the-dole’ and has different requirements to those under the urban Jobactive program.
The Remote Schools Attendance Strategy is also being co-ordinated by SkillHire and aims to encourage children to go to school.
To learn more about these programs, we talk with Stephen Busbridge, the CDP Manager at SkillHire.
