Interview with Pitjantjatjara/Yankunytjatjara interpretation

This week’s interview is with Tania Pompey and Tony Walker from the Mimili Community Country Fire Service.

They talk about how the Mimili CFS was set up and how the women came to be involved. Tania talks about the importance of women “stepping up” and getting involved in their community. She hopes that the example set by women in Mimili will encourage and inspire women in other communities to get involved.

They explain the training that was done and the equipment that fire-fighters have learned to use.
