Mr Tauto Sansbury

This week’s interview is with Mr Tauto Sansbury, a Narungga Elder and winner of the 2015 NAIDOC Lifetime Achievement Award.

Tauto shares his thoughts about the South Australian Royal Commission into Nuclear Energy and tells us about a gathering of Native Title groups on 10th and 11th August in Port Augusta, where they agreed that uranium should be left in the ground. The key issues discussed at this gathering have been collated and prepared as a submission to the Royal Commission.

He also comments on the Indigenous Leaders’ Roundtable on Economic Development and Property Rights held in May 2015, and speaks about compensation for the Stolen Generation and his thoughts on Constitutional Recognition.
