Sharron Williams, Chair SNAICC Board

In this week’s show, we talk with Sharron Williams who is the Chair of the Board of SNAICC, which stands for the Secretariat of National Aboriginal and Islander Child Care and is the National Voice of Our Children.

SNAICC is the national non-government peak body in Australia that represents the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.

The Anangu Lands Paper Tracker invited Sharron to chat with us about the work that SNAICC does and we asked Sharron about the South Australian Government’s changes to child protection legislation – The Children and Young People (Safety) Bill 2017.

We also focus on what SNAICC thinks needs to be done to address the serious situation of children living in out-of-home care.
