In this week’s program, we focus on the upcoming elections for the APY Executive Board which will be held on 5th April this year.
We talk with the Deputy Electoral Commissioner of the Electoral Commission of South Australia, Mr David Gully.
Mr Gully explains how the recent changes to the APY Lands Rights Act affect the process of the elections for the APY Executive Board. The changes to the Act include the total number of APY electorates; what you have to do in order to be allowed to vote or to stand for elections; and the actual process of voting.
David Gully lets us know how things are going with the current process for the APY elections and tells us who the nominated candidates are for each of the seven electorates and what people need to do on voting day.
For more information on the elections or to find out the names of the candidates in each electorate, you can visit the Electoral Commission’s website.
